“My paintings became vessels of sadness, grief, and hope that carried memories of the times I spent with him. Those memories became the brick-and-mortar laid down upon the collective unconscious to illustrate the fact that time is immortal.

The single line drawing approach, known as blind art contour technique, gave access to a meditative process of active imagination that opened a doorway. As the structures of the collective unconscious came forward, I allowed this force to grab the reins of my fantasies, stories, and mythic creatures and shape my inner milieu into portraits. Through my hand, brush, and paper, I became the portal of their announcement. It was a humbling experience as the images revealed themselves, and I listened to them carefully. This conscious realization was my Jungian art therapy method observed and somehow seemed so natural and familiar. A healing pathway was acknowledged as these forms confronted me.

The In My Head series depicts archetypal images that have existed in the collective unconscious with personified primordial powers. These cosmic blueprints not only exist in my head but in their own heads. They live autonomously and must be treated with respect; they are sacred. When they call to me, a visual language is manifested, and a confrontation with the shadow begins. I become constellated, and the process of healing ensues. Over time, the painted images that hang on my wall have offered different meanings and dialogue...
